Music to my ears.

Happy Easter!

What an interesting week on my end. Glad to hear everything is stable. Looks like you had a fun Easter egg hunt! Fun fact, the word Easter comes from Eastre, a Norse goddess. Here pagan festival was celebrated at the Spring equinox (see Bible Dictionary: Easter).

Monday:
The orchestra from BYU-Idaho was in town doing a tour, they arrived today, and we fed them dinner for service. One of the members in the orchestra served her mission in Elder Fontaine's home branch, and knows his family! Small world. Then we had Family Home Evening with Toshonna and Jermaine.

Tuesday:
I was on exchanges with Elder Hansen, from Calgary! We were in the same mission prep. class, he was going to school in Edmonton. We sanded and painted a bathroom. We got so dusty, especially up in our noses. (so nice he put in this fine detail... ;)Then we cleaned up and fed the orchestra again, before they ran off to their performance. After that we had a great lesson with Bernard about the Law of Chastity. Good stuff!

Wednesday:
Great district meeting in Laval. Then we had a busy day of teaching. We went over to Sasha's. He is the kindest person ever! He made us super good food.

Thursday:
Thursday I was on exchanges with Elder Smith! It was nice to see him again.

Friday:
Lots of teaching today it was great!

Saturday:
We went to a baptism with Bernard. The man that was baptized is amazing! He bore his testimony at the end and it was so touching. He had truly been changed by the Gospel. Then we had a Stake Easter Concert. Surprise! I actually performed. I did a duet with some missionaries of a song entitled "Gethsemane". Then our ward put together an octet that I participated in. And, last but not least, we had a choir of all the full-time missionaries. I was conducting. It was amazing. The missionaries sang so well!

Sunday:
We had an encore performance in sacrament meeting of the duet and the octet. I was also asked to give a short talk, and Elder Fontaine as well. Made for a very musical meeting. Then we went to the Lungu's for Easter dinner. Easter is a big deal in Moldova, so we literally had a feast of eastern European food. It was delicious.

Hope you have a great week. We should coordinate with Jenna to be able to do Google Plus or something because we can conference call for free. Love you!

Good Morning Montreal!

Good Morning Mom!

This week was great overall. Today is awesome. We went for a run this morning. It is so fun being back with Elder Fontaine. I have definitely been praying for the house to sell. Living near the Nzojibwami's would be really great!(we are looking at a place near our friends)  Kananaskis looks beautiful. Lewis is such a champion.(sent him pics of Lewis on his scout trip this weekend...cross-country skiing in Kananaskis)

This week went like this:

Monday:

It was Kenny's birthday, so we made him a French yogurt cake. Yum. He hasn't been to church in a while, but we visit him every week. Then we had FHE with the Aguirre family.

Tuesday:

I was on exchanges with Elder Andersen. We buried a dead bird for a member... ya.(here is where I laughed out loud when I read this...he's so funny!) Then had dinner with the Lungu family! I love Moldovan food. We then taught Bernard. He is preparing to be baptized! He came to all the sessions of General Conference. The lesson was great, we were all uplifted.

Wednesday:

I had fufu for the first time, with the Frimpong family from Ghana! So good. It was great, we also had a lot of time to go around and talk with people. You meet the most interesting people in this city.

Thursday:

We had a rehearsal for the song we are singing at the Easter Concert.

Friday:

We had a Zone Training Meeting. Near the end we had a short testimony meeting. This was one of the most powerful times on my mission. As we shared with one another our experiences, the room was filled with a sweet peace, a warmth. In other words, the love of God. I know that is what we felt. I know that our Saviour lives. Jesus Christ is the way to joy in this life. I feel it everyday! What a blessing. What we teach, and what we learn is truth. Undeniably.

Saturday:

We had lunch with a member in a huge tower-like building, with valet parking. It was sweet. Then we taught a new family. They are so nice, really spiritual. Then we had a dessert bake-off for a ward activity. We made the yogurt cake again and got a solid third place.

Sunday:

Church was great. We had the privilege of going with the Bishop after church to take the sacrament to some older ladies in the Ward. It was a great experience. Then we had dinner with the Feth family from Brazil!

Pretty good week all in all. Hope you have a good one!

Monday 7 April 2014

Short but sweet.

This week was great. Picked up the new missionaries, got Elder Fontaine back. Been doing work, and was edified by the messages at conference. I learned a lot. I loved Elder Ballard's invitation to invite someone to meet with the missionaries and follow-up at least once a quarter.  I also want to share some of the things I have learned from Preach My Gospel, as he directed. This week, Elder Fontaine and I were reading in Chapter 9. We found a part that says to plan to work in that neighborhood after your appointment. It was clear to us that this is because the Lord can use us to do good there and help others. He can lead us to those in need as we follow the promptings he gives us. One of the most joyful experiences is when you were in the right place at the right time to help someone feel the love of God in their lives. If only we could reach everyone, if everyone were open to hear us, they would find more light in their lives! I know I find more light every day. I am really happy.
